This post adds one reference information for time-lapse photography. Suppose you need to compress one day into a one minute long film. What is the time interval for taking pictures ?
The answer is given by the following formula :
T = H x 3600 / (S x F) where H : length of event in hours S : length of time-lapse film in seconds F : Frame rate (Frames per second)
T is the time interval in seconds for taking pictures. H times 3600 gives the total real time in seconds. S times F gives the total number of pictures that has to take. F is usually set as 30.
As an example of one day (24 hours) compressed into a one minute (60 seconds) film. H is 24 and S is 60. So, T is equal to 48 seconds.
